Hacking tracking'n'smacking
Hello everyone,
this message is intended for all the newcomers, but also current players, who have an intention to use hacks on our server. Simply, don't do it. Unlike other servers, we have a custom engine used for detecting hackers. We've banned roughly 50 accounts last few days for various forms of hacking. The surveillance and analyzing of logs will continue and hackers will be punished immediately and permanently (on main characters an likely on alts) without a second chance.
I'd also like to inform guild leaders, that they should not worry if the amount of players in their guild will decrease in next few days, as we might be deleting (or at least guild-kicking) the permanently banned characters.
Have a safe play.

3.3.3a Update
Dear players,
we have updated the server to version 3.3.3a. Many new things are expected to be working, but it is possible some may get broken. A quick overview of updates can be checked in this topic, full changelog at GC github.
Patches are really small (<150MB) and can be downloaded from http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors
Don't forget to change your realmlist back to GC and run game with Wow.exe again
See you in game

The ruler of magic Himself! Malygos!

Unquestionably, most of you already got pretty tired of doing Naxx and only Naxx for the past couple of months, so tired, that you can anticipate that your charge will change at Thaddius before even the Polarity Shift is being cast, so we decided to add some variety, introducing next WoTLK raid instance, The ruler of magic Himself! Malygos!
Will be available in both 10/25 man modes as from 27.03 around 14:00(2PM) server-time.
And don't forget your keys!
public chat: what it is not for
Hello,
Over the last few month the public chat has steadily degenerated into a channel, where people are offended, whine uselessly about bugs, spam to their hearts content and players excessively demand(!) GM help for their personal little problems.
Not only does this type of behavior give new players a bad first impression, but it also makes a lot of the old players not even join the channel. While there is always the solution to ignore people you don't like or not join the public chat at all, just abandoning the idea of a place where players independent of their side can meet up and exchange ideas, make new friends or fight over best hunter builds is not something we really want to do.
Therefor we will try to enforce stricter rules in public and mute spammers or people abusing public for their own purposes more consistently.
To summarize what is off limits in public chat:
Anyone not following these simple rules will be muted for 5 min.
If you are muted, please take a deep breath and realize this is not a personal attack against you, but just a way to keep order in a channel with a growing number of members, who have different age, are from different countries and live in different cultures.
If you feel unsure how to behave in public chat (and by that fact are new to the internet in general), here are some links that provide some of the standard netiquette guidelines widely approved throughout the internet:
http://tools.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/a ... uette.html
And google can find you many more.
Thank you for understanding.
In case you don't really know how to make a ticket the following text will give you some pointers.
How to make a ticket:
Attention: If you are in a party/raid only 1 ticket is enough. The Guild/Party leader should then make the ticket.

To make a new ticket please click on the little questionmark in you system bar.

Once clicked a new window will open, in the click <Talk to GM> and then Open ticket. You can now enter your support request in the window that popped up.

Please try to describe your problem in detail, give as much information as you think is needed for someone not playing your char to understand what your problem is. Also writing please and thank you can't hurt; GM's are only humans.

Once you submit your ticket you will get a little status popup that tells you about your tickets status. Depending on the type of question you had or support you requested the GM might now choose to whisper you, teleport directly to you, or answer your ticket directly.

If that is the case your status icon will change and when you click on it you can see the GM's reply to your problem.

Once you have read the ticket click <message read> to close your ticket. If you have a followup question you can open a new ticket in here too.
Thanks for you cooperation,
GC Staff

To summarize what is off limits in public chat:
- The public chat is not a place where you search for people to trade with. NO WTS / WTT / WTB.
- The public chat is not a place to complain about bugs. Developers do not pass their time reading the public chat to hunt down bugs, they check the bugtracker. If you want a bug to be fixed, comment on the bug in the bugtracker or if no bug is present, open a new bugreport.
- The public chat is not a place to request support from the staff. WoW offers a great ticket system that can be used very efficiently

Wings of Liberty joins Gaming Consortium
Good news everyone,
an italian RP server known as Wings of Liberty is joining the lines of Gaming Consortium. We are more than happy to see our community growing not only from inside, but also through incoming players who bring additional values and make the server even better.
Wings of Liberty is a little Italian RPG Shard, born by a division from an other italian server, running on same database and core base as GC (Mangos+UDB+SD2+ACID). The rates are blizzlike/low (1x-2x) and the server has numerous roleplay enthusiasts as well as RP events. After filtering and cleanup, there's around 550 characters coming (68 of which are active level 80s). 2 RP event gamemasters, Heremir and Orcowar, and 2 database developers, ShinDarth (some of you may know him from UDB forums) and Helias, are heartily welcome.
Information for WoL players:
Gaming Consortium is trying to progress the content equally on all fronts (pvp, instances, emblems). Currently we are at naxxramas and season 5 (deadly/hateful). Here is a list of changes made with consent of ShinDarth.
set realmlist realm.gamingconsortium.org
version 3.3.2
Enjoy your stay

- Since WoL had only naxx10 and os10 open, we degraded the high end content gear from emblems with ilvl 200 equivalents (Emblems of Conquest/Triumph -> Emblems of Heroism/naxx10, Furious/Relentless -> Hateful).
- Really high end content items (ilvl > 258) from events have been removed
- Conflicting account names have been prefixed by "WOL_" (total of 17 accounts)
- Conflicting player names have been prefixed with "GC_" or "WOL_", depending on the time /played. These characters will be asked for new name on next login.
- All WoL characters got their talents reset (GC is using new talent system with dual spec)
- All WoL accounts have been locked. They need to be activated through the Account Importer. This will create you a forum account with same username as in game. This is required for our numerous web tools and gadgets.
